Hilarious but utterly serious Google stunt! Gmail is the best email solution by far. You can access your email from anywhere and also use all of the other Google online services. If you are not using Gmail yet you should!

As a Google user I find it easier to collaborate online and use Google Docs with my collegues and contacts. If you have ever been any where near my desk you might have noticed that I really don’t like paper. The online option for sharing documents is a perfect fit for me and a time saver.

Sending documents back and forth, and with different versions circulating between contacts it can get confusing very fast, which ‘final’ version is actually the right one? In Google Docs you will always have the latest version just a couple of clicks away.

I also started to use Google docs as a backup for my admin. Last year my laptop crashed, died and I was seriously having a minor panick attack when I remembered that I hadn’t backed up my admin in two months. Luckily my local computer shop revcoverd my admin and tax files. Now I upload my most important docs so that I have an extra copy just in case. It is handy to have access to these files with out having to drag around an external drive or laptop all the time. You know I am bound not to back again on time and laptops are not cats right?

Facebook does not allow you to customize your URL when you sign up for an Facebook account, but take an extra 5 minutes to claim your personal URL and make it easier for Google to find you.

Here’s an example of how Facebook generated the URL for my friend Raoudha:

facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001714024893

It could be: facebook.com/raoudhaoueslati

Now that looks better already and it is easier to remember. You can make it whatever you want as long as it hasn’t already been taken. Please note that once you have changed your profile URL, you can then only change it one more time (go to settings, account settings).

How to customize your Facebook URL:

1. Log into Facebook
2. Go to: facebook.com/username

At the moment I have three web browsers on my laptop. I have been an avid FireFox user for about 3 years but recently I decided to start using the Google web browser Chrome. Chrome is everything Google says it is: fast, slick and easy to use. I like that when you open a new tab Chrome can show an overview of most visited or recent closed websites.

The only problem that remains is that certain websites don’t fully work in either FireFox or Chrome. Mostly for me these seem to be websites that have booking systems for travel or tickets. So keep Internet Explorer on your pc for those moments when you need it but otherwise make the change and start using a web browser that understands the user’s needs.
